Balinese punk rock outfit Superman Is Dead, which was in Jakarta over the weekend as part of the celebrations of the Beda.Is.Me peace movement, is on a mission to celebrate Indonesia’s diversity through its music.
“It’s important because life is complex,” said Bobby Kool, vocalist and guitarist. However, not everyone appreciated the band’s efforts.
“Once in the past, people who didn’t understand our vision were throwing things at us,” Bobby said. “Only after we explained how important it is to celebrate diversity did they seem to understand.”
