Nama tendensius Superman Is Dead (SID) dicomot dari Stone Temple Pilot’s “Superman Silvergun”. Namun karena dianggap miskin konotasi, zonder rasa bersalah secara sewenang-wenang nama tersebut lalu diganti menjadi “Superman Is Dead” – yang seenak udelnya dimaknai sebagai: tak ada manusia yang sempurna. Or here in Denpasar, back in the day there was a collective called "Suranadhi Stray Cats Complex" (which located in, yup, Hotel Suranadhi). It really is not. -Ada inspirasi dari judul lagunya KISS "Detroit Rock City" perhaps? Maybe subconciously we inspired by that. Not pretty sure. Ceritanya waktu kita lagi pada bingung mikirin judul album, tiba-tiba aja kita liat ada tulisan "Kuta Rock City" di rolling door studio tempat kita latihan, and Dethu, the manager, came up with the idea: "Dude, why don't we just use that as the album tittle?". Tulisan tersebut udah ada di itu rolling door for quite long--pyloxed by Jerinx--and it was inspired by the rock'n roll lifestyle yang ada di Kuta. Also SID's pretty close friends g) Social Distortion Social D = TUHAN Social D = AGAMA Social D = KITAB SUCI Mike Ness = Duta Besar Rock 'N Roll Luar Biasa & Berkuasa Penuh. h) Dead Kennedys (Sebenarnya) mereka Tuhan, tapi gak sejalan dengan perspektif berkesenian SID sebab--utamanya Jello Biafra--terlalu sibuk berpolitik (and he's a real loud mouth, talking way too much) sementara SID miskin minat pada politik. However, we have to admit DK is an influential band for those who's into politico-punk. Hoobastank are cool people tapi kita gak terlalu dengerin their stuff. Dan pada waktu itu cuma ada 1 drum dan stelannya gak boleh dirubah. It was kinda sucked but we kicked some ass, somehow... ha! -What is a rockabilly?
